BA/BS/MBA Requirements and Eligibility

Application Procedure

The BA/BS/MBA program requires a two-tiered application process which includes both undergraduate and graduate requirements. All applicants are required to complete a BA/BS/MBA Accelerated Degree Application available through their undergraduate advisor once they have accumulated 90 credits and before reaching 120 credits. Provisionally accepted students will submit a graduate application and application materials in their final undergraduate year.

Applying as a High School Senior

  • Student must have a high school GPA of at least 3.5

At the undergraduate level, students can be provisionally accepted into the BA/BS/MBA program at the time of admission. Once the student has accumulated 90 credits, an Accelerated Degree Application must be completed before reaching 120 credits, at which time a BA/BS/MBA code will be placed on the application.

A plan of study/sequence sheet must be completed for each applicant with the assistance of their undergraduate advisor to ensure that all undergraduate degree requirements are met within the required four years. Both documents must be submitted together for approval and processing.

Applying as a Current Drexel Student

  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2
  • Student must be within the credit range of 90-120 credits

Graduate Application Requirements

In student’s final undergraduate year, they will receive application information from the Graduate Student Services enrollment team to complete their graduate application via email. This email will include a link to the application, a list of additional materials, and appropriate deadlines and information.

Graduate application materials will be due in a student’s final undergraduate year, each April, prior to their MBA start term. Applicants will receive an official decision by May 1. Student status in the BA/BS/MBA program will remain provisional pending successful completion of all undergraduate degree requirements as well as MBA application requirements.

Course Application

Students can leverage graduate coursework in three ways:

Option 1. As part of Accelerated/Combined Program degree requirements

  • Undergraduate LeBow students provisionally accepted into an accelerated or combined degree program must follow their approved plan of study which specifically prescribes which graduate courses the student will take and when.
  • The LeBow graduate course credits earned with a B or better will be used to apply to the graduate degree requirement.
  • Graduate credits earned do not fulfill the requirements of the student’s undergraduate degree.

Option 2. As part of any undergraduate degree requirements

  • Undergraduate LeBow students may enroll in a LeBow graduate course if they meet the eligibility criteria and have completed any required course prerequisites.
  • Any graduate credits earned under this option can fulfill only undergraduate degree requirements.
  • Credits and grades will appear on the student’s transcript and will be counted toward the student’s cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA).
  • None of these graduate credits can apply to satisfy any graduate degree requirements at Drexel.
  • The LeBow graduate course may only count toward the student’s undergraduate free elective requirements.

Option 3. In excess of any undergraduate degree requirements

  • Undergraduate LeBow students may enroll in a LeBow graduate course, if they meet the academically qualified criteria and have completed any required course prerequisites.
  • Graduate credits earned with a B grade or better as an undergraduate student may apply to an advanced degree at Drexel or another institution, only if such graduate credits do not fulfill the requirements for an undergraduate degree.
  • Credits and grades will appear on the student’s transcript and will be counted toward the student’s cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA).
  • Credit awarded for any LeBow graduate course may not apply to any undergraduate degree requirement.

Financial Aid Considerations

Students receiving federal financial aid should consult with Drexel Central to understand the potential impact of graduate coursework on their aid eligibility.

Schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to discuss course options and obtain approval. Note that not all courses are available for undergraduates, and additional department approval may be required.

This policy is effective immediately. LeBow undergraduates are encouraged to explore this exciting opportunity to broaden their academic horizons.
