The First of Its Kind in the Philadelphia Region

Offered jointly by the LeBow College of Business — a top-ranked, AACSB-accredited business school — and Drexel’s College of Computing & Informatics (CCI), the interdisciplinary degree program is the first of its kind in the Philadelphia region, combining business, economics and data science at the graduate level to provide you with the skill sets that employers around the world seek. By learning from the expertise of our research-active faculty and using rigorous economic theory to inform data analysis, you’ll be equipped with the computational and problem-solving abilities to analyze data for business and policy decisions.

Delivered jointly between Drexel’s LeBow College of Business and College of Computing & Informatics, our MS in Economics and Data Science is a customizable offering that can prepare you for career or academic success.
Unlike at other universities, our School of Economics is part of Drexel’s LeBow College of Business, providing access to a wider variety of business courses and an array of technical expertise and experiential learning opportunities.
Differentiating itself from other institutions, Drexel CCI combines and integrates both computer science and information science — the home of data science — to offer you an extensive range of technological solutions to economic issues.
The MS in Economics and Data Science is a STEM-designated degree program. Students with an F-1 visa can apply for a 24-month OPT extension if they meet noted criteria.
The MS in Economics and Data Science is best for recent graduates or professionals — based in the U.S. or abroad — looking to advance or switch their careers, or to enter doctoral programs with advanced data skills.

Choose from electives in several disciplines, such as business analytics, strategic financial management and machine learning for data science, which can be used toward a certificate in either data science or business. Courses are also available from Drexel’s Center for Public Policy, and students wishing to prepare for PhD programs may take courses in the Department of Mathematics.
