Kimberley Claman is a Director in Global Government Affairs at Citi and works closely with Citi’s Global Government Affairs staff and Chief Country Officers, managing Citi’s relationships with relevant financial regulatory bodies and US and foreign government officials. She leads Citi’s policy development and advocacy strategy on a broad range of issues, including in international trade and investment and digital trade. In addition, Kimberley participates in Citi policy teams on cyber security, fintech, and regulatory cooperation. Kimberley serves as Chair of the Financial Services Committee at the Coalition of Services Industries and the Vice Chair of the Investment Committee for the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development.
Kimberley is an internationally recognized expert in international trade and investment and joined Citi after 20 years of government service negotiating international trade and investment issues. At the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) as the Deputy Assistant USTR for Financial Services and Director for Investment, Kimberley negotiated the financial services chapter and the investment chapter of numerous trade agreements, including market access, and served as USTR’s lead negotiator in the World Trade Organization’s Committee on Financial Services and in Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations.
Ms. Claman served as a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs at the US State Department and as an International Economist at the US Department of Commerce.
Ms. Claman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs with a minor in Business Administration from the George Washington University (GWU). She also received her Master of Arts degree in International Affairs at GWU.
