H: and Y: Drives Migrating to OneDrive and SharePoint

BY AL RIESS

September 21, 2020

In support of recent a Drexel University IT (DUIT) initiative, LeBow Tech will be discontinuing the use of personal server shares (H: drives) and, ultimately, departmental server shares (Y: drives) in favor of the University approved cloud storage solution. All existing server shares will be migrated to OneDrive (personal H: drives) and SharePoint (departmental Y: drives) as part of this initiative.

To assist LeBow Tech with this migration, DUIT has agreed to include our H: drives in a mass migration planned for Monday, October 19, 2020. Anyone with an active personal server share will be migrated to OneDrive at that time. Further details will be communicated directly to those individuals shortly.

Migration of departmental server shares will begin in January, 2021 at the start of the Winter term. LeBow Tech will reach out to department heads and managers at that time to arrange their department’s move.

If you would like to migrate your personal or departmental share earlier or have any questions/concerns about this migration, please email lcbtech@drexel.edu for assistance.
