Save the Date: Spring Community Service Project

March 30, 2011

On Saturday, April 9, LeBow College of Business will join Drexel and the University’s Community Alumni Network (CANDU) for a spring community service project.

Join Drexel alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends as we transform the Samuel Powel Elementary School at 301 N. 36th St.

The day will begin – rain or shine – at Drexel Pizza (107 N. 33 St.) at 7:30 a.m. Check-in and receive your free volunteer t-shirt while enjoying a full breakfast buffet. Team captains will provide an overview of the day’s projects as well as job assignments. Projects for the day will include painting, hanging bulletin boards, and refinishing the lines on the basketball court, among many others. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing.

Volunteers will begin walking to Powel School between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. Project work will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude with clean-up beginning at noon.

Powel Elementary educates approximately 250 students in grades K–4. Your work can have a huge impact on the lives of our youngest neighbors. If you are unable to participate but want to help, CANDU is also accepting donations of school supplies.
