Choosing a computer to use while enrolled at LeBow College of Business is a very important decision that should be made with care. Below you will find recommendations for the minimum hardware specifications to look for when purchasing a new computer. These minimum specifications are intended as a guide to ensure the computer you choose will serve you well in your daily coursework. Any upgrades to these recommendations are at your discretion based on your personal preference.
While LeBow Tech does not endorse any particular brand or style of computer for personal use, we do recommend that you give serious thought to purchasing a Windows 10 based laptop. This will ensure you are able to use all software required for your coursework and offer you the portability to take your computer with you to class.
Apple Users
CAUTION: You may be required to use software for coursework where no macOS version is available. In these instances, you will need to find alternative ways to access the software such as:
- Using any LeBow College of Business computer lab
- Using the LeBow Virtual Lab (vLab)
- Using 3rd party online services (e.g. Minitab Cloud)
Chromebook & iPad Users
WARNING: Chromebooks and iPads are not recommended options for students enrolled at LeBow College of Business. Chromebooks and iPads are not compatible with some services and software that are required for coursework, including online exam proctoring software.
