BSBA Major in Sport Business

Drexel LeBow’s sport business major offers students a variety of career paths to pursue including agent, facility manager, sport administrator and sport marketer, within an industry expected to exceed $83 billion in revenue by 2023. No matter the path students choose, having a solid understanding of all functional areas of business and how to apply that knowledge to the sport industry is vital.

The demands of the increasingly sophisticated multibillion-dollar global sport industry call for professionals who have strong academic credentials paired with strategic work experiences in sport organizations. Our sport business program is intended for students who plan to pursue careers with professional sports teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport media networks, sport marketing firms and other sectors of the sport industry.

Sport Business Major Curriculum

Housed in the AACSB-accredited LeBow College of Business, the BSBA in Sport Business directly applies the principles of business to the sport industry through advanced academics and experiential learning. The program offers business foundations and a sport business core with coursework in:

  • Facility and Event Management
  • Sport Law
  • Sports Economics and Finance
  • Sport Marketing and Sales
  • Media Relations

Beyond required sport-focused coursework in business, marketing, law, society and economics, Sport business majors can tailor their coursework to the career path they hope to follow. Just as the career options in the sports industry are endless, so are the courses students can take that will prepare them for a future in sports.
