Undergraduate Economics Student Presents at Conference Hosted by the Chicago Fed

Chloe Mshana, BS economics ‘28, presented the poster “Navigating the Nonprofit Landscape,” at the Fifth Annual Exploring Career Pathways in Economics and Related Fields Conference, hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and The Sadie Collective, in Oct. 2024. Mshana first began this research in collaboration with Teresa Harrison, PhD, professor of economics, as part of the STAR (Students Tackling Advanced Research) Scholars Program, an undergraduate research program offered by Drexel’s Pennoni Honors College, during summer 2024.

Professor Gregory Nini Leads Discussion on Community Banking Research

Faculty & Research

Marshall M. Austin Professor of Finance Gregory Nini, PhD, moderated a research paper session on community banks and the local economy at the 12th annual Community Banking Research Conference. The conference, co-sponsored by the Federal Reserve System, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC), was hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis from Oct. 2-3.

Awards & Accolades

LeBow undergraduate student Sukriti Dhungel, BS economics and data science ’27, has been named a Nina Henderson Provost Scholar for the 2024-25 academic year. Dhungel, a native of Nepal, will work with an interdisciplinary group of fellow students and Drexel faculty on the project “Amplifying Experiential Learning through Community Partnerships.”
