Apostolos Apostolou

Apostolos Apostolou is an economist at the International Monetary Fund. At the IMF, he is conducting macrofinancial and external sector surveillance, and is involved in financial sector assessments of advanced economies. He has worked on financial sector issues, financial system interconnectedness, debt finance, and on an IMF-supported exceptional access financial assistance program. Before joining the IMF, he worked at the European Central Bank in the areas of international finance and monetary policy. Previously, he was at the World Bank working on economic policy issues in emerging and developing countries. He started his career in the private financial sector in London. He has published in the areas of monetary policy, exchange rates, macrofinancial interconnectedness and debt financing. He holds a PhD from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, an MSc from the University of Warwick, and a BA from the University of California Los Angeles.
