Co-founded Cumberland Advisors in 1973 and served as its Chief Investment Officer through 2024. He remains a Strategic Advisor at Cumberland. He holds a B.S. in economics, an M.S. in organizational dynamics, and an M.A. in philosophy from UPenn. David co-authored “From Bear to Bull with ETFs”, “Adventures in Muniland”, “Invest in Europe Now”, and “The Fed and the Flu: Parsing Pandemic Economic Shocks”. He has authored three monograph pamphlets: “Lessons from Thucydides”, “Zika”, and “Yield Curve Control – The story of ZIRP and NIRP.” A member of NBEIC, NABE, and the Global Interdependence Center (GIC), David hosts, in partnership with GIC, retreats known as “Camp Kotok.” Formerly GIC’s program chairman, he now serves on the advisory board to the GIC’s College of Central Bankers.
