Assistant Professor of Spanish and International Economics
Federico Carril-Caccia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and International Economics at the University of Granada, Spain. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Granada in 2019. He was a PhD trainee at the European Central Bank and visited the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS).
His research focuses on International Economics, particularly the determinants and effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). His work explores FDI from emerging countries, examining both its determinants and effects, and how a country’s capacity to attract FDI is influenced by institutions, environmental and trade policies, social networks, economic sanctions, and migration. Additionally, he studies the determinants of migration and international tourism. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Economics.
