Drexel alumni are invited to join the Alumni Board of Governors in celebrating National Volunteer Week at FDR Park in South Philadelphia, helping to preserve and enhance this vital community space. At 348 acres, FDR Park is the largest green space in South Philadelphia, a beloved gathering place for picnics, play and relaxation. By participating, you’ll play a direct role in keeping this historic park clean, green and welcoming for the thousands of people who visit each year.

Get involved by picking up trash or gardening to help enhance the park’s natural beauty. Your efforts will support FDR Park’s long-term revitalization, ensuring it remains a safe, accessible and thriving space for the community. All supplies provided—just bring your Dragon spirit! Families and friends are welcome.

After the service project, stick around to enjoy everything FDR Park has to offer, including free fishing gear rentals, bird-watching scopes, tennis and pickleball courts, a soccer field and two updated playgrounds for kids (there’s almost always an ice cream truck nearby). You can also explore the American Swedish Historical Museum, located right inside the park.

Make an impact, reconnect with fellow alumni and show what it means to be a Dragon who serves!
