Carter Murdoch Joins LeBow as Executive Director of the Henderson Real Estate Institute
Carter W. Murdoch, PhD ’99, has been appointed as the executive director of the newly established Wilbur C. Henderson Real Estate Institute at Drexel LeBow. Murdoch brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the real estate industry, making him an invaluable addition to the College.
Murdoch’s career spans executive roles in organizations including Arc Home (EVP), Freedom Mortgage (SVP), Anywhere Real Estate (SVP), Century 21 Real Estate (SVP), Bank of America NA (SVP) and the National Association of Realtors® (Principal Economist/Managing Director). He has demonstrated a track record of success, driving significant growth, implementing strategic initiatives and achieving outstanding results in various leadership capacities.
Murdoch received his doctorate in economics from Drexel and has been an adjunct professor of real estate and finance at Drexel LeBow since January 2023. In that time, Murdoch helped develop and deliver cutting-edge courses, including Short Term Rentals: VRBO/AirBNB and Mortgage Finance. He also played a pivotal role in the “Financing Energy and sustainability Investments: The Role of C-PACE Financing” conference and assisted in additional fundraising for the Henderson Institute prior to his appointment.
Additionally, he has taught at Pennsylvania State University, Cabrini College and Valley Forge Military College. He is also a licensed Pennsylvania Realtor.
