Drexel University's LeBow College of Business Unveils LEAD Magazine
Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business has published LEAD, a bi-annual magazine which features best practices from established industry leaders, pertinent research summations from LeBow College’s esteemed faculty, professional development guidance, as well as information on the happenings and events at LeBow College.
“LeBow College’s LEAD magazine provides a comprehensive perspective of business issues presented in a thought-provoking, insightful and unique format,” said Dr. George P. Tsetsekos, Dean of Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business. “Through this publication, we are inviting business leaders to speak about their successes and challenges and enabling our readers to glean essential business information to use in their own businesses or careers.”
The first issue of LEAD highlights Raj Gupta, chairman, president and CEO of Rohm and Haas Company. A 1972 graduate of LeBow College of Business, Gupta shares his 10 core beliefs of leadership, which he developed while rising through the ranks at Rohm and Haas from a staffer in the finance department to leading company operations overseas to assuming the position of CEO, only the fifth such officer in the company’s nearly 100-year history.
LEAD provides a behind-the-scenes look at The CEO Agenda, a research project underway by LeBow faculty in which top Philadelphia-area CEOs provide in-depth insights and analyses of the emerging trends in their respective industries. The CEO Agenda looks at how research-based institutions like Drexel University can help shape the future of these industries.
The magazine also looks at the debate of whether corporate social responsibility is good for a company’s bottom line. LEAD examines the power of LeBow’s alumni network, offers tips on how to take control of one’s career and includes a poignant column from a respected business leader on emotional intelligence.
LEAD is published in the spring and fall by the College’s Office of External Affairs. The next issue of the magazine is slated for November 2007.
