EMBA Alumni Honored at Fall Reception
Dean George Tsetsekos, Ph.D., and the Executive MBA Alumni Board hosted LeBow College’s annual Executive MBA Alumni/Student Fall Reception last week. Nearly 100 Executive MBA students, alumni, faculty and guests attended the event, held September 18.
This event has become a tradition that Executive MBA alumni look forward to each year to reconnect with each other and welcome new students into the EMBA community. The highlight of the event is the presentation of awards to distinguished EMBA alumni to recognize their remarkable achievements.
Cindy Conway, class of 2007, and current Alumni Board president, and Judd Newman, class of 2010, presented the awards alongside current board members. Five EMBA alumni were honored:
Service to Profession
Frank Anastasi, class of 2010, was honored for his strategic financial guidance and exemplary team-based leadership as Chief Financial Officer at Pennsylvania Hospital.
Service to Community
Helene Pierson, class of 2000, has been central to the leadership and success of The Heaert of Camden, a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to restore the dignity and quality of life for Waterfront South community residents, since 2002.
Entrepreneurship
Rusty McCarty, class of 2010, was recognized for his entrepreneurial initiative and leadership to launch CustomED, a nonprofit organization founded in January of this year, providing extraordinary educational experiences that inspire and motivate learners of all ages.
Service to Alma Mater (two recipients)
Larissa Milne, class of 2006, was honored for her commitment to turn the seed of an idea into a reality, which today benefits all Executive MBA alumni. Specifically, she was honored for overseeing the launching of the first Executive MA Continuing Education Summit in 2008.
Robert Srubar, class of 2004, was asked to lead the project team responsible for the launch and continued growth of the EMBA Continuing Education Summit, launched in 2008. As a global expert who drives strategy through to execution on a daily basis for Merck Pharmaceuticals, Bob simply and with a very calming demeanor not only launched this program with over 75 attendees in its first year, but continued to refine it to the program we enjoy today. He was a board member from 2008-11.
