"Gottahava Wawa" to Feature LeBow Professor, Alum
Talk Radio 1210 WPHT will present an event themed "Gottahava WAWA" on Thursday, April 19, from 12 to 1 p.m. This event will focus on the keys to Wawa's success and will feature LeBow College of Business MBA alumnus Peter Gilligan '06, who serves as the vice president and chief real estate officer for Wawa, Inc., and Robert Keidel, Ph.D., clinical professor of management at LeBow College.
These speakers will discuss the business of convenience stores and how they have become a way of life for busy people. Wawa, the local leader in convenience stores, is based out of Delaware County and boasts nearly 600 locations and 16,000 employees. Its local heritage dates back to 1803.
The conversation will revolve around topics such as:
- Why are Wawa stores so popular?
- Why is no other regional convenience store chain even close?
- How have they been able to thrive during tough economic times?
- What was their strategy to develop a winning formula?
This event, part of WPHT's “Surviving The Tough Times With Steve Cordasco” speaker series, will be held at the Top of the Tower, Three Logan Square, 1717 Arch Street, 51st Floor, in Philadelphia. A complimentary Wawa hoagie lunch will be provided to guests. If you are interested in attending please register soon as seating is limited.
