Drexel LeBow's new Future-Ready MBA

Introducing Drexel LeBow’s Future-Ready MBA

BY DAVID ALLEN

April 02, 2025

Anthony J. Drexel established the Drexel Institute to be a flexible agent for real-world impact, saying, “I know that the world is going to change, and therefore, the University must change with it.” In keeping with the University founder’s vision, the LeBow College of Business continually reviews its programs and curricula to ensure they adapt to and meet evolving industry needs.

Starting this fall, changes to the LeBow Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will reimagine the degree so it prepares students to thrive and innovate in today’s dynamic business environment. Shaped by guidance from students, faculty, alumni and industry leaders, the newly updated curriculum features enhanced experiential, collaborative and active learning aimed at strengthening students’ critical thinking and interpersonal power skills.

The revised MBA curriculum offers more opportunities to develop skills in leadership, data-driven decision-making and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), in an integrated program that prepares students to succeed in the present and future workforce.

“Our MBA students will apply what they learn immediately in their work, gain real-world experience through customizable, hands-on learning opportunities and have access to personalized career support, professional development courses and a strong professional network,” says Murugan Anandarajan, PhD, senior associate dean for academic programs and faculty affairs.

Students will graduate future-ready to lead innovative industry solutions at the intersection of people, data and technology.

Experiential learning has always been at the center of Anthony J. Drexel’s adaptable, future-focused University, and the new LeBow MBA stays true to this mission, offering students a variety of hands-on electives to choose from: a graduate internship, a business consulting course, a strategy capstone project and more, such as course topics in digital marketing, business agility and IT, and negotiations for leaders.

Additionally, a STEM-designated MBA concentration in applied AI in business will be offered starting this fall. This concentration equips students with the expertise to integrate AI into business functions, optimize processes and navigate AI deployment’s ethical and regulatory challenges. Courses in this concentration feature real-world case studies, strategic modeling, decision intelligence simulations and hands-on AI applications.

“By combining foundational AI literacy with practical application, this concentration prepares our MBA graduates to lead a future workforce driven by AI,” says Stacy Kline, assistant dean for teaching and learning and clinical professor of accounting.

The full list of MBA concentrations — available for in-person, hybrid and online studies — includes:

  • Accounting Analytics (STEM)
  • Applied AI in Business (STEM)
