NABA on Campus

The professional chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) of Philadelphia hosted a scholarship awards banquet on April 19 to recognize three Drexel University accounting students who were awarded scholarships. They are: Stephanie Mayer (1st Vice President); Prince Osei-kwarteng (President) and Tho Hoang (member). In addition, Drexel received the 2013 Workplace Diversity Award for providing an environment that embraces diversity as a part of the university’s many ongoing initiatives.

Later in June, the professional chapter of NABA hosted its 12th Annual Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) Graduation Dinner and Recognition Reception for 14 high school and college-bound students at Drexel’s Sky View Room in University Club 6. This dinner reception is the culmination of a week-long program which exposed the students to outstanding speakers, careers in accounting, leadership, networking and communication workshops as well as field trips to public accounting firms and private sector organizations in industry. In addition, Drexel was recognized as a silver sponsor for the event.
