New Security Button in the Zoom Toolbar

On Tuesday, April 7, Zoom released version 4.6.10 of their desktop application. With this release, Zoom added a new button to the standard toolbar at the bottom of the meeting window. The new Security button allows hosts to quickly manage several key aspects of their meeting from one place including:

  • Locking the meeting
  • Enabling a waiting room even if the option was not selected when the meeting was created
  • Removing participant options such as
    • Chat
    • Screen sharing
    • Renaming themselves
  • Quickly remove a participant from the meeting

To take advantage of the new Security button, make sure you update to the latest version of Zoom.
