Center for Corporate Governance Director Patricia Connolly Wins PoWeR Award

September 03, 2014

Patricia Q. Connolly, director of Drexel LeBow’s Center for Corporate Governance, has been named the 2014 PoWeR Award Recipient.

Every year the Professional Women’s Roundtable names a woman in the Philadelphia community who is a trailblazer and who is committed to mentoring women and advancing women’s issues, particularly among emerging women business leaders as their PoWeR Award winner. Past awardees include Charisse Lillie, VP of Community Investment Comcast Corporation, Dr. Ann Weaver Hart, president of Temple University, and Judge Marjorie O. Rendell, Federal Judge within the United States Court of Appeals.

As director for the Center for Corporate Governance, Patricia develops strategic partnerships with public, private, and not-for-profit boards of directors to address leading practices in governance. She works closely with the Center’s Advisory Board, comprised of key corporate executives, on addressing the “real world” needs of today’s boards.

Patricia has a strong background in executive leadership. She is a former group vice president of PNC Bank and was the senior vice president of external affairs of the Academy of Natural Sciences. She has served on advisory boards of many organizations, including the board of PNC Bank’s Women’s Financial Services Network. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Shore Medical Center and Chestnut Hill College and co-chairs the Philadelphia Chapter of WomenCorporateDirectors.

She will be presented with the award at PWR’s Anniversary Event in October and will present a keynote speech at that event. Professional Women’s Roundtable is a nonprofit founded in 2002 with a mission to provide networking, leadership, educational and personal growth opportunities to a diverse group of women in business in the Greater Philadelphia region.
