To better align, track and report on our engagement activities within the Drexel LeBow Strategic Plan, all events hosted or co-hosted by LeBow departments, faculty or professional staff for internal or external stakeholders will be reviewed and approved by the appropriate college leaders and the Dean’s Office.
Process
-
Complete and submit the event proposal form at least eight (8) weeks before the proposed event date
- The proposal requires that the submitter define the purpose of the event, the strategic priority(ies) it serves, anticipated audiences and attendance, any partners it engages, and a budget
- The event elements must be approved by the head of the sponsoring department before submission
- An exception to the eight-week timeline may be requested for unexpected and time-constrained opportunities that arise within that period to be reviewed by the Office of Engagement and Alumni Relations and approved at the discretion of the Dean’s Office with consideration given to whether there is enough lead time to successfully plan, promote and execute the event to its full potential
- The proposal form is routed through the Office of Engagement and Alumni Relations for review of the program details, items needing clarification, potential partnership opportunities and any elements needing support from the Engagement and Alumni Relations team
- The Office of Engagement and Alumni Relations forwards the proposal with its recommendations to the Dean’s Office for budget review and final approval or denial
- The Dean’s Office notifies the Office of Engagement and Alumni Relations of its decision which subsequently notifies the submitter and associated department leadership
- Please allow five (5) to seven (7) business days to receive a decision on your proposal
Qualifications
-
Events requiring a proposal include, but are not limited to, external speaker/panel talks, workshops, conferences, networking events and alumni reunions held in person or online, on or off campus, where the targeted audience is or includes alumni, donors, parents of current students, research partners, industry partners, employers and recruiters, business professionals and/or local community members
-
A proposal is not required for prospective or accepted student events such as open houses, information sessions, accepted student days and orientations, nor for student engagement events, research seminars or events hosted by recognized student organizations where the audience is entirely current students
To ensure quality and consistency, events submitted to the Drexel LeBow calendar undergo reviews with the LeBow Web Services and MarComm teams.
