Drexel LeBow Professors First To Publish in New Journal

January 09, 2015

Professor Benjamin Lev, PhD, head of the decision sciences department at Drexel LeBow, and Assistant Professor Wenjing Shen, PhD are co-authors of the first paper to be published by a new journal, Operations Research Perspectives Volume 1, Issue 1, pages 1-5. Lev, Shen and their co-authors were invited to submit this leading manuscript which provides a simple algorithm to find the optimal solution for minimizing fixed transportation costs when moving products from multiple sources to a number of destinations. The journal’s content published by Elsevier is available to scholars and others at no cost, making it part of the open-access movement to share discoveries as quickly and widely as possible. The target audience includes management scientists, industrial engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians and others working in operations research. Both Lev and Shen are on the Editorial Board of ORP. Lev is a widely recognized authority in his field. He and LeBow College recently hosted the seventh International Conference on Management Science and Engineering Management, welcoming representatives from nine countries. He has served on the boards of more than 10 professional journals and associations.
