Transforming Career Services: LeBow’s New Center for Career Readiness

BY DAVID ALLEN

March 03, 2025

As the job market evolves, students need more than just a degree—they need adaptable skills and strong industry connections. LeBow’s new Center for Career Readiness provides both of these key areas as a unified hub for career services that empowers students with the tools to succeed in an ever-changing workplace.

This new Center, staffed with experienced advisors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, will support career-related curriculum enhancements, analyze career outcomes for alumni, and strengthen employer engagement to expand opportunities for LeBow students in co-ops, internships and full-time roles.

The Center will also leverage data collected at both the college and university levels to better support students in shaping their academic plans and career pathways after graduation. This enhanced emphasis on data will contribute to the continued expansion of the College Hiring Outlook, an annual report that provides insights into hiring trends based on a comprehensive nationwide survey.

“The modern workplace is increasingly dynamic and interconnected, and this changing landscape requires a holistic approach to career services for students,” says Murugan Anandarajan, PhD, senior associate dean of academic programs and faculty affairs, who will oversee the Center. “By unifying career services, we aim to provide students with comprehensive career support that aligns with industry demands and prepares them for long-term success.”

Kelly Deily, a longtime career and professional development advisor in LeBow’s Office of Graduate Student Services, will serve as the Center’s director. Additionally, Cuneyt Gozu, PhD, associate clinical professor of management, will serve as academic director for the Center, building on his previous work as a Dean’s Faculty Fellow on incorporating core “power skills” and career development goals into curricula.

In keeping with LeBow’s student-centered mission, career advisors at both levels will continue to provide guidance in interviewing, preparing resumes and cover letters, networking and other job-search essentials.

By bridging academic learning with industry expectations, the Center for Career Readiness ensures that every LeBow student graduates not only with a degree but with a competitive edge in the job market.
