Transfer Credit and Course Waivers

Upon acceptance to a Drexel LeBow graduate program, student applications will automatically be reviewed by our enrollment management team for course waiver and course transfer eligibility. In cases where course waivers are not granted and academic competency is demonstrated in a subject area, students may substitute certain business core courses with a more advanced course that is more suitable to the student’s experience level.

Requests and appeals for waiver/transfer credit evaluations must be made prior to the end of week one of the first term of study. No further considerations will be made after week one of the first term of study.

Course Waivers

Course waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The following criteria will be considered with course waiver requests:

  • Undergraduate major in business discipline
  • Relevant professional experience in respective subject area
  • Timeline during which courses have been taken. Courses must be taken within the last 7 years.
  • Grades earned in courses (from accredited institutions). All grades should be a ‘B’ or higher.

Additional Professional Designations to Supplement Course Waiver Requests

  • CPA, CFA, CMA, CGMA, APICS or CSCMP (copy of exam results and/or current license required)
  • Grades in post-baccalaureate credit-bearing coursework from accredited institutions

All waiver requests must be reviewed within the Admission Review process and no later than the first week of classes.

Transfer Credit

If you have taken graduate coursework at an AACSB-accredited university in which you did not receive a degree, you may be eligible for transfer credits.

Graduate credits from an AACSB-accredited graduate business program that have not been previously applied to a degree may be eligible for transfer credit. The combined number of waiver and transfer credits may not exceed 15 credits.

  • Courses must have been completed within the past five years
  • Students must have an earned final grade of “B” or better in the course under consideration
