Combining the collective expertise of researchers and practitioners, Drexel LeBow’s ongoing collaboration with Precisely exemplifies the College’s emphasis on academic-industry partnerships.

Drexel LeBow’s Center for Applied AI and Business Analytics, a hub for collaborations that drive outcomes for students and companies, and Precisely, a global leader in data integrity, both recognize the value of understanding AI and data practices and priorities across industries. With a shared interest in providing insights to help companies benchmark and work toward their data objectives, the Center for Applied AI and Business Analytics and Precisely formed a partnership that benefits students and organizations alike.

The first three years of the partnership have yielded applied research output, with comprehensive findings and insights from three different surveys of data and analytics professionals, as well as a capstone project collaboration with graduate students focused on location intelligence.

Our partnership with LeBow's Center for Applied AI and Business Analytics helps us keep a pulse on what's driving the data integrity industry and provides valuable insights to data leaders who are striving to make data-driven business decisions. 2021: Trends in Data Governance and Data Quality

Data quality and data governance, key components for achieving data integrity, work together to enable businesses to understand and trust their data for confident decision-making. This report shines a light on how data governance strengthens data quality. It also looks at the choices organizations are making today, and which appear most effective in charting a path to data governance maturity and, ultimately, data integrity.

Key findings:

75% of respondents say data quality is a top goal. At the same time, 39% say their organizations don’t measure quality across the enterprise.

  • The top three obstacles inhibiting the success of organizations’ data governance programs are cultural awareness and adoption, cost and understanding the right organizational approach.
  • Data governance programs deliver the most added value when they are jointly led within organizations.
