DMA Attends 2010 American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference
Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business Drexel Marketing Association (DMA) participated in the 2010 American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, where the chapter captured two awards.
DMA member Chris Young, a senior, was a national finalist for “30 Minutes with an Entrepreneurial Hero,” and the chapter won the Outstanding Fundraising award.
Pre-junior Victoria Lam, vice president of DMA, says group is “very proud to have won the Outstanding Fundraising award because the whole chapter has really put a heavy emphasis on our fundraising this year with great help within the organization, especially with our new director of fundraising, pre-junior Emily Woods, as well as external help from LeBow faculty and staff, and corporate sponsorships.”
At the conference, DMA members participated in three competitions: a Northwestern Mutual sales competition, a SABRE business simulation, and a t-shirt design competition. The 12 LeBow students in attendance took advantage of the networking and social aspect of the conference and were able to develop potential professional relationships with students from business schools across the country. DMA members also were able to network with recruiters and representatives from various companies, both domestic and international.
Chapter president Krupa Desai says “It is clear that next year holds bigger and brighter things for the DMA. Led by a strong executive board, we used our time at the conference to focus on the year ahead and to strengthen our chapter on a national platform.”
Desai added that DMA’s goal is to be named “Chapter of the Year” at next year’s conference.
